Publié le 6 July 2022
On March 26 and April 2, ECPAT Luxembourg and its partner Shakti Samuha organized a three-hour orientation session on stress management and self-care in two shelters for victims of human trafficking run by the partner. The session was facilitated by a registered nurse and a psychosocial counselor. 30 child victims, residents of foster homes, participated in these orientation sessions. The goal of the session was to help children cope with the post-traumatic effects of COVID-19. During these sessions, the facilitator discussed the definition of stress, the different types of stress, its causes and treatment options. Participants discussed the challenges they have faced throughout the pandemic, as well as its impact on their lives and societal changes. In addition, the facilitator emphasized the need for self-care.
